Ongoing Website Support

Keep it Working

WordPress support retainers for engineering & B2B firms

Your website needs more than a launch; it needs a partner. Get the ongoing support, updates, and strategy that keep your site working as hard as you do.

After a Website Rescue or a Working Website launch (or anytime you’re done being your own webmaster) this is how your site stays my problem instead of becoming yours. Month-to-month.

Sound Familiar?

Most retainer clients fit one of these:

Your team is stretched thin.

You’ve got a marketing team, an ops team, maybe a developer somewhere…but everyone’s already buried. Website tasks keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list. You need someone whose job it actually is.

Your site is launched but stagnant.

You invested in a great website. Then nothing changed for 18 months. Every time you want to update something, it turns into a project. You need consistent forward motion, not occasional sprints.

You don't have anyone who gets WordPress.

Your site runs on WordPress. Nobody on your team knows it well enough to do anything beyond editing text. You need someone who can handle the technical side without you having to translate.

Already have an agency?

Good. Keep them. Then answer these three quetsions.

1.

What's your turnaround on a small site change right now?

2.

Who do you call when the site breaks?

3.

When a campaign lands on a page that needs updated, who updates it?

Most firms have a decent answer to the first, a vague one to the second, and nothing for the third. That isn’t an agency failing. Agencies get hired to run campaigns and the good ones run them well. The site those campaigns point at is nobody’s line item, which is how solid ads end up pointing at a page nobody has touched since launch.

Keep your agency for the campaigns.

I’ll keep the site they’re sending traffic to from undoing the work.

Websites Aren't "Set it and Forget It"

Every website needs ongoing care. Plugins update. Security threats evolve. Content goes stale. Conversion paths break. Things you launched last quarter need a tweak this quarter.

  • For most businesses, the options are limited:
  • Hire an in-house developer (expensive, often overkill)
  • Lean on an overworked internal team that doesn’t have the bandwidth
  • Let the site sit untouched until something breaks

A retainer fixes that. You get a reliable partner who knows your site, handles the ongoing work, and keeps things moving…without you having to build a department around it.

The Person Behind The Work

I started Expressive Web Design because I kept seeing brilliant business owners stuck behind brands that didn’t do them justice. Logos that didn’t fit. Websites built on templates with no real strategy. Beautiful businesses hidden behind generic visuals.

I do branding and websites because they shouldn’t be separated in the first place. When you build them together, with strategy underneath both, you get something that actually works — not just something that looks good.

For the last 10 years, I’ve been helping businesses build brands that finally feel like them, paired with websites that pull their weight.

If that’s the partner you’ve been looking for, let’s talk.

Questions People Usually Ask

Yes. You can move up or down between packages with 30 days’ notice.

We’ll scope the extra work separately. You won’t get nickel-and-dimed for going slightly over; but if a real project shows up (a new page build, a major feature, a campaign push), I’ll quote it before we start.

No. Retainers are designed to keep work consistent month-to-month, not stockpile hours for later. If you find you’re consistently not using your hours, we’ll move you down a tier.

Month-to-month with a 30-day cancellation notice. No long-term contracts. If it’s not working, you tell me, and we wind down cleanly within 30 days

Yes. Many retainer clients didn’t have me build their original site. There’s no onboarding fee; I’ll get familiar with your setup as part of the first month’s work. We’ll just chat through the basics on the discovery call so I know what to expect.

I focus exclusively on WordPress for retainers. If your site is on Squarespace, Wix, or another platform, I’d recommend finding a specialist for that platform. Happy to point you in a direction.

Redesigns, brand-new features, and new systems
– those all get scoped and quoted as their own projects. Your plan covers the ongoing care and improvement of what exists.

Nope. Plenty of clients start here when they feel overwhelmed. New-to-me sites begin with a quick review so I know what I’m taking care of.
